Beauty in Central Oregon

HIDDEN LAKE

I have been meaning to post pics from a few hikes that we have done in the last couple of months. This first set of pics is from Hidden Lake, or at least we think that is the name that it is given. It doesn't have a name on the topo map. Anyway, I wasn't in the mood to go for this hike, and we started late in the day, but it ended up being well worth it. We hiked for a couple of miles, and then all of a sudden after hiking up a little stream, we peeked around the corner, and then the pic below appeared! Absolutely stunning!
GREEN RIDGE LOOKOUT
Here are some pics from a fire lookout we stayed in at the beginning of November. That was a very fun experience, although it was quite chilly. We were able to cook a great steak and potato dinner and have coffee and pancakes in the morning. Not too shabby for "camping." It was beautiful in the middle of the night because it was one night away from being a full moon, and it illuminated Mt. Jefferson! It was majestic!

This was much safer than it looks! :) Boys and fire?!? What can I say? We usually try to make our fires without the use of matches, usually using a flint and dry brush. We tried (really Kelly) tried for awhile this time, but everything was so wet, and it was getting chilly, so we opted for the use of a match.
