We celebrated Kelly's 35th birthday on Sunday, March 15. I threw him a surprise sushi party, with the help of our sis-in-law, Amy, and our good friend, Deveney, and we had a wonderful time. I also surprisingly actually kept everything a surprise. It was a little stressful, but I was so happy to do this for him. We had a great weekend, first enjoying a wonderful dinner at this amazing restaurant in Sisters called Jen's Garden. Exquisite food and wine paired with each of the five courses. An amazing experience!
Then on Sunday, Kel opened his presents, we went out to a really nice breakfast (one of our favorite things to do), then his bro took him out in the afternoon. I needed the time to prep everything. I got together with Amy and Deveney, and I think we made 25 rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. We had tuna, yellowtail, salmon, halibut, ceviche, and spicy crab. Amy deep fried bacon (I know!! but it was really good) and sweet potatoes and there was edamame. We also enjoyed some yummy saki.
Kelly was so happy to have lots of friends there and one of his favorite foods. It was a great time!
